The Independence Building is the most solemn sight in the capital, with a height of 118 meters. Around the building are statues of medieval statesmen, intellectuals, and poets of Turkmenistan. It houses a museum. The museum’s values tell the story of Turkmenistan’s history and the sources of its independence. The spacious field around the building is a beautiful park with stunning views of trees and shrubs. The beautiful water fountain compositions that dot the entire field of the park are breathtaking.
Traditionally, foreign visitors plant a young tree near the Independence Monument on land reserved for honored guests.
